Eugendorf shopping centre
The Eugendorf Center in Salzburg reopened in mid-December 2021. The centre occupies a 1,300 m² site next to the Wallersee/Eugendorf motorway exit.
The shopping centre has a modern facade made from approx. 3,000 running metres of Accoya slats supplied by us. Each planed Accoya slat measures 42 x 190 mm and is attached using just two bolt connections at the top and bottom, with the longest slat being just over 4.5 m long.
Facade cladding featuring vertical slats is a trend that is becoming increasingly common due to its many benefits. As well as providing indirect shade for the interior, it also gives buildings a linear look.
The advantage of using high-performance Accoya wood was the excellent durability of this timber, which is sourced from sustainably managed forests and treated with natural acetic acid. Accoya has other benefits that make it ideal for use in facades. There is no warping or twisting, even with long Accoya slats. The supplier also guarantees durability of at least 25 years for this acetylated wood, which is weatherproof, non-toxic and environmentally safe.
