Studio Martin Auer

Named “Atelier Martin Auer” (Studio Martin Auer), the new bakery headquarters opened on the corner of Maggstrasse – St. Peter Gürtel on 20 August 2021. The façade was designed to reflect the latest trends, featuring vertical louvres due to the clear benefits in regard to functionality and look. We were asked to deliver around 10 m³ of Accoya louvres for the façade on the 6,500 m² building.

The semi-transparent façade cladding is becoming increasingly popular. It also provides indirect shading for the rooms and imbues the building with a straightforward and modern look.

A decision was reached to use high-performance Accoya wood, as it neither warps nor twists, regardless of the length. Monterey pine from sustainable forestry is treated with natural acetic acid, which makes the Accoya especially durable, while also preserving its natural beauty. Other benefits of Accoya include the extraordinary dimensional stability, low maintenance requirements and almost complete absence of crack formation or cupping. The manufacturer guarantees a service life of at least 25 years for the acetylated wood, as it is weather-resistant, ecologically safe and non-toxic. The high-tech wood is 100% recyclable.

Studio Martin Auer houses the entire bakery, grain mill, coffee roastery and office, as well as a staff academy. Besides the new flagship store, we also delivered the Accoya for a terrace that invites guests to enjoy a few relaxing moments.
